Grants Made by Gay Line Wellington
From time to time Gay Line Wellington makes grants toward groups and individuals seeking to provide support for gay people in Wellington and elsewhere in New Zealand. A high priority will be given to initiatives aimed at support for gay youth in Wellington.
Gay Line Wellington and the grants it makes are funded by the Rule Foundation, a registered Charitable Trust. Any applications for funding should be made to Gay Line Wellington at our contact us page.
Outline New Zealand
In Nov 2009 the Rule Foundation made a special donation of $10,000 to Outline New Zealand
Asia Pacific Outgames
In January 2011, Gay Line Wellington, with the support of the Rule Foundation, donated $6,000 to the organisers of the 2nd Asia Pacific Outgames. The money was used to purchase sports equipment for the Outgames with much of the equipment being donated to the community at the end of the games. For example, over $1000 was spent on volleyball equipment which was later donated to a secondary school development squad and several hundred dollars was spent on football equipment which was donated to Wellington Whites gay men's football team.
The Outgames, held in Wellington in March 2011, was a festival of sports, arts and culture as well as a human rights conference. Gay Line Wellington is proud of its support for the games and the opportunity to showcase our wonderful city.
Here (http://www.wellington2011.org/home.html) you will find audio recordings of the keynote speakers, presentations from the concurrent sessions, interviews with participants, plus sound and images from events during the week.
