There are many types of men within our community who affiliate to many types of interests. Some men who started life in the wrong biological body, identify with the term gender dysphoric, transsexual or transgender. FTM Aotearoa is but one of many support networks, designed for those who feel they fit within this concept with a Maori basis of nurturing the spirit (wairua). This nurturing can also extend to friends and family if they so wish. FTM Aotearoa is about real everyday life.
If you are considering FTM Aotearoa as an avenue for you to pursue or rekindle – please do not hesitate to make contact – “everything to gain, nothing to lose”
These words from a well known Maori proverb depict FTM Aotearoa’s vision
I will say to you
It is people!
It is people!
It is people!

The Homphones formed at the end of 2007 as a community male-voice choir open to all who wish to participate. We have a professional musical director and our gigs for 2008 included our inaugural concert, Around the World with Twenty Gays, in November. In 2009 we will be performing at gay community events and presenting concerts in July and November. We continue to welcome new members. Everyone likes to sing, even if only in the shower, and the ability to read music is not essential. There are no auditions - just come along to a rehearsal and see how you enjoy it!
