Free and confidential service
The NZ AIDS Foundation/Awhina Centre in Wellington offers many services to the community, including visitors and newcomers. The three primary services are:
- Free, confidential, rapid HIV and syphilis tests. Get results in less than an hour, not a week. The test will include time to speak with a trained counsellor in a safe and supportive environment.
- A full sexual health screening (in Association with the Wellington Sexual Health Service) every Wednesday 4 - 7pm.
- Support, information, referrals and counselling to people living with HIV - all free of charge.
Please phone 04 381 6640 to make an appointment for any of these services. You can stop by anytime for general information about HIV.
Volunteers are welcome to drop in on Fridays between 1 and 5 to have a cup of tea and participate in weekly activities, such as making red ribbons and making condom packs.
